Meet Our Massage Therapist Rachel
Rachel Carter graduated from A Gathering Place Massage Therapy School in Springfield, Missouri. She studied directly with “Anand” Jaclyn Kohler, Branch Administrator of A Gathering Place Massage Therapy School in Springfield, Missouri, and the owner of Awaken Healing + Massage.
As a part of her education, Rachel developed a healing skill set of massage techniques, including hot stone massage, hot bamboo massage, and aromatherapy. Rachel also enjoys incorporating guided meditation and breath work into her massage sessions to support clients in connecting with their body and the present moment.

Rachel has long been called to a life of service. Before training to become a massage therapist, Rachel worked as a social worker, receiving her Bachelor's of Social Work from Missouri State University in 2015.
Her social work career was primarily in domestic violence support, advocacy, and prevention in Springfield. As a domestic and family violence survivor herself, Rachel is passionate about breaking the cycles of violence and supporting the liberation and healing of other survivors. Rachel brings her experience and knowledge from her social work background to each massage session, focusing on compassionate, individualized, and trauma-informed care.
Rachel was called to become a massage therapist after caring for a parent in palliative care in 2023. Her spirit was touched and forever changed by this experience, where she learned the importance and power of gentle, loving touch and how essential it is to us all for connection, comfort, and peace at all stages of this life. Rachel has an intention and passionate interest in supporting individuals receiving end of life care in her massage career.
Rachel is a gifted relaxation therapist who will wholeheartedly support you in your journey to healing, self-love, and renewal. Rachel meets all she encounters with loving energy, kindness, and grace. She strives to be a nurturing, warm presence and finds deep meaning in caring for and connecting with others through the art of massage.
Rachel enjoys time outdoors, hiking, kayaking, and exploring all the beauty that the Ozarks has to offer. Rachel loves indoor gardening, candle making, embroidery, tarot, and cooking.
